Do you love playing with children and would want to make extra money while spending time with children? If yes, you can put up your own childcare business. Yes, with babysitting, you can earn money but you have to take note that there are laws involved in opening such business. There are factors that you need to consider such as the people’s schedules, the needs of the children you will watch over with and so on.

You need to think and decide if this is the right business for you. Definitely, you know that child care involves lots of works, long hours, crying children, and lengthened attention for the kids under your facility. In order to know the work that a daycare possesses, spend time in a daycare center and observe.

You need to decide whether you want to put up a home-based business or you are ready for a more challenging one. In putting up a home-based business, the state laws and child welfare regulations are fewer. If you are into a bigger business, if you wish to handle more children, you need to know that the regulations are stricter. So, how much can you handle? Think about it. As soon as you finally decided that this is the right career for you, you can soon think about how big your childcare business would be.

Get a child care license. Check out your state or county’s rules and regulations about childcare business. Make sure to abide with it. Visit your city hall and ask for the requirements in getting business license.

Consider getting insurance. You can contact your insurance carrier and ask for advices that you can make use of for your childcare business. It is best to be insured, it is not only for your sake, it is also for your business and the children under your care too.

Decide on your operating hours, days in a week and the price that you will charge. You can visit few of the daycare centers near you, ask about the prices they charge and base it from there. But make sure to offer something that they don’t in order to gain more clients.

Make sure to advertise. Make a sign and put it outside your facility. You can post an ad on your local newspaper. Create flyers and post it on notice boards. These are few ways of advertising your child care business.
